Disney’s most beloved conurbation of Zootropolis, where “Anyone can be anything”, and its diverse array of mammalian inhabitants are coming back next year! Disney has recently announced that its characters from our favourite megacity will début on a brand-new upcoming TV show, titled “Zootropolis +” on their streaming platform, Disney+ in 2022! The original film ‘Zootropolis’ (known as ‘Zootopia’ outside of the UK & Ireland) released in 2016, was one of Disney’s biggest hits earning a revenue grossing over $1 billion (£730 million) worldwide at the Box Office as well as winning a host of awards such as the Best Animated Feature Film at the Oscars and a plethora of other accolades.
Fantasy
films aimed at kids don’t have to have political messages, but when they do, they
should either be internally consistent, or work through the contradictions in
terms that kids can apply to the real world. “Zootopia,” a fantasy set in a city
where predators and prey live together in harmony, is a funny, beautifully
designed kids’ film with a message that it restates at every turn. But if you
think about that message for longer than five minutes, it doesn’t merely fall
apart, it invites a reading that is almost surely contrary to the movie’s
seemingly enlightened spirit: discrimination is wrong, but stereotypes are

Disney had a lot of new projects to share during the Disney Investor s Day 2020, and many of these projects built off of beloved characters and franchises that fans haven t had a chance to see further explored. Included in that mix is a return to the world of Zootopia in a new Disney+ series titled Zootopia+. We don t have a ton of details just yet, but we do know the new series is coming to the service in 2022 alongside a Baymax! series and a Tiana series. They also announced a Moana series coming in 2023, and all of these will be in animation.
