Wool Research Organisation
of New Zealand Inc (WRONZ) today announced its world-class
research initiative with the Ministry of Business,
Innovation and Employment (MBIE) to explore new uses for New
Zealand’s strong wool has led to the development of unique
wool particles, powders and pigments with global export
potential for applications as diverse as cosmetics,
printing, luxury goods and personal care.

Staged in near perfect conditions, the first race of its kind was a tremendous success. With a warm sunshine above and light easterly winds joining the competitors, the Windermere 17 Class’s first race of the season took place on an exciting Saturday. The race was highly competitive, with the stunning backdrop of the North Lake and fells beyond providing a perfect setting for the race. At the conclusion of the race Nick Aubrey (‘Atholl’) claimed first place for his own. In second place was ‘Musetta’ (helmed by Richard Broughton) and then ‘Chameleon’ (helmed by the club’s commodore Nigel Tullett) in third place.
