A Tyne Valley-based plant oils business is celebrating the launch of new products. The Oil Atomisers - Calm, Happy and Protect - contain plant essential oils whose active ingredients have been scientifically proven to have beneficial effects on memory, cognitive function and sleep. BrainBalms was founded by pharmacognosist Dr Nicolette Perry in 2019. Pharmacognosy is the scientific study of medicinal drugs derived from plants and the BrainBalms ranges are the result of many years of scientific study and testing. Nicolette said: “There is now so much scientific evidence for the beneficial effects of particular plants and knowledge about how they work, supporting their use in traditional plant medicines through history.
