NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â There could be major developments in the murder trial of decommissioned Metro Nashville Police Officer Andrew Delke. Delke shot Daniel Hambrick during a chase back in 2018.
Delke is appearing for a motions hearing in Judge Monte Watkins courtroom. Watch live below:
Itâs unclear what prompted the hearing, due to a gag order that s in effect for the case, but we do expect they will be significant.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â Did the suspect shot and killed during a gun battle with a Metro Nashville police officer get second-rate medical treatment? It s a question loaded with emotion on both sides that some have debated on social media. Our policy is to transport patients to the closest, most appropriate facility within Davidson County with some exceptions, said Nashville Fire Department spokesperson Joseph Pleasant. This includes, if their injuries are so acute, they need to be taken to the closest hospital.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â The Nashville branch of the NAACP said it wants a âfairâ investigation into the shooting of Markquett Martin, which occurred during a foot chase with Metro Nashville police back in early February.

The NAACP said the shooting highlights the âproblems with policing, which include the lack of transparency, distrust and slow-paced reform of police practices.â
One question many have asked is why there wasn t any body camera footage from the shooting.
There are eight police precincts in Nashville. While each has a handful of officers already wearing body cameras, as of mid-February only East and West precincts were fully equipped. The rollout process is in stages, and the Hermitage precinct officers involved in this foot chase will not be entirely equipped until September. Metro

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â The Metro Nashville Police Department has released its ballistics testing report in the Markquett Martin shooting.
The department released its findings from the shooting on Friday, saying the sole shell casing recovered from the scene was fired by the semi-automatic pistol Martin was carrying. Police called the shooting a self-inflicted gunshot death.
Additionally, police said impact testing showed that the gun would not fire without the trigger being pulled. Investigators said no officers fired their weapons or used force.
