Paramedic students at Northeast Community College participate in mass casualty drill

NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) - Paramedic students at Northeast Community College put their emergency skills to the test Wednesday, by taking part in a mass casualty drill.
These students had to act fast in this mock situation the squad had a lack of resources and more patients than they could handle. The drill was a car accident with multiple victims, and included a visit from LifeNet Air Methods.
The Norfolk Fire Division and Norfolk Ambulance were there to see how the drill unfolded.
Instructors and real-life emergency crews were happy with how the students handled the situation.

The Stanton County Sheriffâs office is continuing to investigate a two vehicle accident in Northern Stanton County that claimed the driver of one of the vehicles. The accident occurred at about 1:50 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy 35 and 846th Road north of Woodland Park. The accident occurred when an eastbound pickup appears to have failed to stop for a stop sign at the Highway and drove into the path of a southbound car on Hwy 35. The driver of the pickup was ejected from her vehicle onto the roadway after it rolled onto its top and lifesaving efforts were undertaken by bystanders and law enforcement, but proved futile and the driver was pronounced dead on scene. The 21-year old driver of the southbound car was restrained, with airbag deployment and transported to FRHS by Hoskins/Woodland Park rescue. The pickup invol
