NORFOLK, Va. - Some encouraging news about tourism in Hampton Roads as business owners work to rebound from the pandemic: Tourism officials and businesses in Norfolk are seeing growth in visitors as vaccinations continue to ramp up.
Joshua Weinstein has been the guide behind Norfolk Tour Company.
âWe show off the city,â Weinstein said. âWhat it really does for me is reminds me why I love this area.â
2020 hit his business hard, including tours canceled because of COVID-19.
The pandemic led him to adapt to making products and virtual tours.

NORFOLK, Va. â The Norfolk Tour Company, like most small businesses, is tailoring its product during the COVID-19 pandemic. Theyâre now offering private walking tours.
Customers can book a tour of the Neon District, the Waterfront, the Freemason neighborhood or a customized mix. Owner Joshua Weinstein says they give private tours with a minimum of four participants and a maximum of 10. The cost is $25 per person.
âYou can have an enriching, fun, funny, entertaining walking experience thatâs outdoors,â said Weinstein, who studied history at Old Dominion University.
