Representative image ANI | Updated: May 25, 2021 20:31 IST New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): The CBI on Tuesday withdrew its appeal before the Supreme Court against a Calcutta High Court order in which four senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders including State ministers, were granted the benefit of house arrest instead of being lodged in jail under judicial custody after their arrest in connection with the Narada scam. A Bench of Justice Vineet Saran and Justice BR Gavai of the apex court said all contentions to be raised before the High Court. The Bench gave liberty to the parties to raise all contentions before the five-judge bench of Calcutta High Court which is seized of the challenge to bail granted to four TMC leaders in the Narada scam.

Highlights CBI has moved the SC against the house arrest of TMC leaders in the Narada case CBI has also sought adjournment of the hearing of the case in front of a larger bench of the high court, scheduled to be held on Monday KOLKATA: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has approached the Supreme Court against the Calcutta High Court’s order directing house arrest for four Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders arrested by the central agency in connection with the Narada bribery case. According to reports, the probe agency has sought adjournment of the hearing of the Narada case in front of a larger bench of the high court, scheduled to be held on Monday (May 24, 2021).

Narada case: CBI moves SC against Calcutta HC order allowing house arrest of TMC leaders ANI / Updated: May 24, 2021, 11:43 IST New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation ( CBI) filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the Supreme Court challenging the Trinamool Congress ( Narada case. The probe agency, CBI, in its appeal, filed before the Apex Court, sought deferment of the larger Bench hearing, fixed for today before the five-Judge Bench of the Calcutta High Court. The Calcutta High Court, in its order recently on May 21, had allowed four TMC leaders, including two sitting ministers, accused in the Narada case, to be granted bail, and to be kept under house arrest.
