Vietnam reported 46 more COVID-19 infections on May 7, thus increasing the countryâs total number of new cases to 161 since April 27.

The new infections include 40 locally-transmitted cases and six entering Vietnam. The 40 cases include Hanoi (24), Hai Duong (1), Dien Bien (1), Ha Nam (1), Nghe An (1), Hung Yen (4), Nam Dinh (1), Danang (5), Phu tho (1), and Vinh Phuc (1).
Up till now, the total number of people who came into close contact with COVID-19 infections and those who enter Vietnam reached over 42,000.

Vietnam recorded 78 new COVID-19 cases, including 65 domestically-transmitted infections and 13 imported, in the past 12 hours to 6pm on May 8, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said.

The new patients were detected in the capital city of Hanoi (22), Bac Ninh (17), Da Nang (8), Vinh Phuc (7), Quang Ninh (1), Bac Giang (1), Hung Yen (3), Hai Duong (1), Thai Binh (1), Thua Thien-Hue (1), Nam Dinh (1) and Quang Nam (1) and Hai Phong (1).

VOV.VN - A total of 78 positive COVID-19 cases were detected in Vietnam, including13 imported cases, and 65 domestic infections found in 13 localities, said the Ministry of Health on May 8 afternoon.
The 65 locally-transmitted cases were recorded in Quang Ninh (1), Bac Giang (1), Hung Yen (3), Hanoi (22), Hai Duong (1), Bac Ninh (17), Thai Binh (1), Vinh Phuc (7), Hai Phong (1), Hue (1), Da Nang (8), Nam Dinh (1), and Quang Nam (1).
With these new patients, the total number of COVID-19 infections in Vietnam rose to 3,230, including 1,811 domestic cases. Of which, 241 cases were detected since the virus recurred in the nation on April 27.
The same day, as many as 42 coronavirus patients were declared to be clear of the virus, bringing the total recoveries in the country to 2,602, while 64 cases receiving treatment have tested negative for the coronavirus at least one time or more.

The Health Ministry on Saturday night confirmed 65 new domestic Covid-19 infections in 13 provinces and cities, raising the tally during the fourth coronavirus wave to 241.
Hanoi took the lead with 22, followed by northern province of Bac Ninh (17), Da Nang (8), Vinh Phuc Province (7) and Hung Yen Province (3), both in the north.
Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Quang Nam provinces and Hue reported one case each.
Among 22 confirmed cases in Hanoi, 14 are patients, and family members of patients at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, which has been put under lockdown after the frontline hospital in the Covid-19 fight became a coronavirus hotspot.
