In spite of a pandemic, St. Louis County property owners came through in 2020.
Payments for second-half property taxes currently stand at 97.6%, or $151.4 million. On-time payments at the Oct. 15 deadline totaled $149.1 million.
There was no extended deadline in the second half, compared to an emergency one-month extension during the first wave of COVID-19 in the spring. First-half payments have come in at a 98.5% clip, and year-to-date tax collections amount to nearly 98%. I am very happy with how the residents and businesses came through this year with their tax payments, especially given the adversity everyone has had to deal with, St. Louis County Auditor Nancy Nilsen told the News Tribune. We are very appreciative of everyone s efforts to provide the necessary funding needed to support the work being done throughout St. Louis County.
