UPDATE: All lanes are now open on I-10 East at I-49, and congestion has cleared. The interstate is also now open past LA 975 (Whiskey Bay).
An 18-wheeler fire Saturday morning prompted the closure of I-10 East at Whiskey Bay. Congestion reached 15 miles, and the interstate was then closed at I-49, where traffic was being diverted from I-10.
Congestion on I-10 at I-49 reached Ambassador Caffery Pkwy. DOTD then reported congestion on I-10 West from I-49 to Ambassador because of a vehicle fire on the shoulder.
