The former post office on Springfield Street CONSTRUCTION work to create a new aparthotel in Warrington town centre is underway. The £3.2million scheme will see the conversion of the upper floors of the former post office on Palmyra Square into 21 ‘high specification apartments for short-term rent’. Builders have now moved onto the site, with the development due to be completed by the second quarter of 2022. Leeds-based main contractor Priestley Construction is carrying out the work on behalf of Danny Inman Property and Priestley Homes located above businesses including Grill on the Square and the Post House, which remain unaffected. Many of the building’s original features will be ‘meticulously refurbished and retained’ as part of the renovation, while ‘high-tech entry systems’ will enable guests to enter the aparthotel using their smartphones.
