SIX NATIOSN OF THE GRAND RIVER-Six Nations front line heath care workers, emergency service workers and high risk community members can preregister for a COVID-19 vaccine soon as part of the community’s vaccine rollout plan.
Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) approved a vaccine matrix for the community with four phases for the vaccine rollout at a special council meeting on February, 19.
Zach Miller Administrative Director at Six Nations Family Health Team at Six Nations Health Services said the matrix was created very organically and leaves room for people to move into different segments due to their own personal medical conditions, but the most important thing for the community to take away from the discussion is that people, vaccinated or not, must still adhere to public health guidelines including, continuing to social distance and wear a mask.

Six Nations is mourning its third COVID-19 related death as cases rise.
COVID-19 infections continue to surge on Six Nations, soaring almost three times higher than the infection rate in Toronto.
There were 15 new cases announced Tuesday from the Family Day long weekend and five on Friday bringing the total number of active cases in territory to 44.
There have been 68 new cases added in the last 10 days, bringing Six Nations total positive cases to 243. There have now been three deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

SIX NATIONS OF THE GRAND-COVID-19 infections continue to surge on Six Nations Friday, soaring more than three times higher than the infection rate in Toronto.
There were five new cases announced Friday and eight on Thursday bringing the total number of active cases in territory to 58.
There have been 53 new cases added in the last eight days, bringing Six Nations total positive cases to 227. There have been two deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
Since Christmas Six Nations has experienced a steady incline of cases, with more than 90 cases since December 25.
