Superstar Racing Experience Race Format, Championship Structure
Here s the race and championship format for the new IROC Series.
The Superstar Racing Experience has a format.
Essentially IROC with legendary drivers but on iconic dirt and short tracks, the SRX will race on six consecutive Saturday nights starting June 12 at Stafford Motor Speedway with every race airing live on over-the-air CBS.
Each of the six events will consist of three segments two 15-minute heat races and a 100-lap feature.
The heat races will determine the starting lineup for the main event, and championship points will be accumulated in both the heats and the feature. There will be a halftime break for drivers to make adjustments in advance of the finish.
Just as the Pro Sprints A-Main was on the track getting formed up for the start Saturday night at the Knoxville Raceway, it started to rain. Persistent light rain for about a half an hour forced officials to call off the remainder of the night due to the track being too wet to get back into racing shape. The Knoxville Raceway announced that there would be double features next week for the 410 class. The make up features for the 360 and Pro Sprints will be announced later.

If you’ve followed the NASCAR Truck Series lately, either on Twitter or solely via television, you’ve probably noticed quite a number of Camping World sponsorships. You might have also heard it creating quite a stir in the racing world, where accusations of low-balling and capitalism abound. It’s quite the saga, one that should be making headlines more than it currently is.

Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis has been quite the avid NASCAR supporter, sponsoring the Truck Series (either via Camping World or subsidiary Gander Outdoors), the third rung of the NASCAR ladder, since 2009. He’s sponsored teams and trucks throughout the series.
