Man arrested for Washington stabbing

Washington A Liberty man has been taken into custody after a stabbing in the town of Washington.
On Tuesday, May 18, at approximately 11:34 a.m., the Knox County Sheriff s Office responded to an alleged assault with a knife at a residence on Liberty Road in Washington..
Police were told that Matthew Dean of Liberty, had stabbed a person from Palermo. Dean had shown up to the Washington residence and caused more than $2,000 worth of damage to a vehicle in the driveway by stabbing the driver’s side four times with a large hunting knife and broke out the rear window.

WASHINGTON An alleged assault involving a large hunting knife kept law enforcement on the lookout for a suspect on the move in a vehicle, and one person transported to the hospital, a tourniquet tied around his arm to stop the bleeding.
The altercation took place May 18, at approximately 11:34 a.m., on the Liberty Road in Washington.
According to a news release from the Knox County Sheriff s Office:“It was reported that Matthew Dean, of Liberty, had stabbed a person from Palermo. Matthew Dean had shown up to the address and caused over $2,000 worth of damage to a vehicle in the driveway by stabbing the driver’s side of the vehicle four times with a large hunting knife and broke out the rear window.”

KNOXVILLE, Tenn
UPDATE 2:30 PM MONDAY: Authorities have taken Anthony Jerome Hamilton Jr. into custody, the Knox County Sheriff s Office announced at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
He d been sought for several hours in the Fountain City area after fleeing as police moved in to arrest him, according to the Sheriff s Office.
Hamilton was detained at Shannondale Road and Tazewell Pike, northeast of where he originally was sought, according to KCSO spokeswoman Kimberly Glenn.
More charges are expected, according to Glenn.

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. A Halls man was convicted of numerous sex crimes against a minor Friday after more than four years of legal proceedings.
49-year-old Anthony Woods was charged with rape, aggravated statutory rape, attempted rape, sexual battery, sexual exploitation of a minor, soliciting sexual exploitation of a minor among other charges filed against him back in December 2, 2016.
At the time, KCSO said Woods had turned himself in and had a criminal history that included assault.
On Friday, he was convicted on 15 counts in criminal court following a week-long trial.
