18-year-old skier suffers severe injuries at Nashoba Valley Ski Area in Westford

An 18-year-old skier suffered severe injuries after colliding with an off-trail building at Nashoba Valley Ski Area Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
The Westford Fire Department said the unidentified male was found trapped under the building, which was near the bottom of the Nashoba Slope.

In a statement, the Nashoba Valley Ski Area said bystanders immediately gave aid to the young skier after the collision just before 1:15 p.m. Sunday. Ski Patrol and emergency medical crews were on scene shortly afterward, and the man was flown by helicopter to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

A skier was injured after colliding with a building at the Nashoba Valley Ski Area in Westford Sunday afternoon.
According to a statement from Nashoba Valley, a young adult male collided with an off-trail building near the bottom of the Nashoba Slope.
Bystanders provided immediate aid to the skier and Ski Patrol arrived a few minutes later followed by EMS, according to the statement.
In an earlier release, the Westford Fire Department said that rescue crews responded to reports of a ski accident with a person trapped. That person was extricated from under a building, according to the release.
