Mum who was abused by vicious partner says funding boost for domestic abuse charity “will save lives”
A mum-of-two who was strangled, punched and head-butted by her vicious partner says a £320,000 boost for a domestic abuse charity “will save lives”.
Roxy, 29, not her real name is now getting her life back on track with the help of the Domestic Abuse Safety Unit North Wales (DASU) after escaping the brutal relationship.
The extra money for DASU – which operates across Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire and Conwy – has come from the newly-elected North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, Andy Dunbobbin, who is a passionate and long-standing campaigner against domestic abuse.

Hafren Dyfrdwy helps spread some Christmas cheer with charity donations in Wrexham

Teams from local water company, Hafren Dyfrdwy, have been busy helping to spread a little Christrmas cheer by donating items to local charities in time for Christmas.
The company donated and delivered essential items to Wrexham based domestic violence charity, DASU, and Wrexham Foodbank, in the hope they can help make a difference to those who need it.
Children’s pyjama’s, socks, toiletries, washing powder, gift sets, towels, facecloths, food and much more were donated by the teams in Wrexham before the country went into lockdown.
