Blog: I Live In UK, My Parents Are Alone In Delhi

Blog: I Live In UK, My Parents Are Alone In Delhi Blog: I Live In UK, My Parents Are Alone In Delhi Updated: April 30, 2021 7:00 am IST I am an only child to my parents. I am living in the UK, and the stress of how my fairly independent folks are keeping safe in these crazy Covid times in India is driving me to a new level of anxiety. The worst thoughts cross my mind. It terrifies me that they may not be able to access care in time if it s required and I won t get there to help them. Saying it out loud is funnily cathartic as opposed to bottling up my morbid thoughts every day. The reality is stark in these times - they are left to their own devices to find any care they may need and we must be prepared for it.

Yeebo is a new digital marketplace attempting to connect craftspersons in India with potential buyers

Yeebo is a marketplace that attempts to digitally connect craftspersons with potential buyers In the initial stages of the pandemic, one of the things that came to the fore was the need to support indigenous, sustainably produced goods that have a lower carbon footprint, and nurture artisan families as well. With tourism coming to a standstill, there was a need to take handmade products from artisan villages directly to buyers. A few e-commerce giants stepped in to stock products from the handloom and craft sector, but there is always room for more. Yeebo, a month-old marketplace that connects artisans to the buyers directly, is taking a step towards plugging the existing gaps. Founded by Delhi-based Maahin Puri and Ikshitha Puri, the app has on board more than 300 artisans and has been downloaded by more than 3,000 potential buyers.
