The festival of Navratri holds special importance in Hindu mythology. The festival is celebrated with great pomp and show all over the country. There are four seasonal Navratris celebrated throughout the year, among which the Chaitra Navratri is celebrated in the month of March-April. This festival will begin on 13th April till 22nd April.
As the nine-days festivities begins, here is a list of colours dedicated to each day and their importance. Wearing the colours according to the days brings in peace and harmony and you feel devoted and calm.
Navratri Day 1: Orange
Day one of the Navratri begins with a bright and vibrant colour, orange. The colour signifies energy and happiness. On this day, the Hindu Goddess Mata Shailputri, the daughter of mountains also known as Parvati, Bhavani and Hemavati is worshipped. The goddess Shailputri is depicted with two hands and has a crescent moon on her forehead.

New Delhi [India], April 12 (ANI): Chaitra Navratri, the auspicious nine-day festival in which devotees of Goddess Durga observe fast and pray for health, forgiveness, and prosperity, is around the corner.
This year, it will begin on April 13, 2021, and end on April 22, 2021. During the festival, many of us prefer buying gifts for kids, offered to them in the form of food, clothes, toys, among several other things.
It is considered a ritual in India to treat young girls on the day of Kanjak or Kanya puja, which is majorly devoted to worshipping young girls up to the age of 12.

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced restrictions on gatherings of five or more people in religious places for effective control of the Covid pandemic during the upcoming festivals of Navratri and Ramzan.
The decision was taken last night during a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the coronavirus crisis in the state.
Both Navratri, the auspicious nine nights festival celebrated by Hindus, and Ramzan - the most awaited time of the year for Muslims - begin on April 13th. The Ramzan date however depends on the sighting of the crescent moon locally.
