MUMBAI: The Bombay high court on Wednesday quashed a criminal case against Navi Numbai resident Sunaina Holey over her alleged social media post last April related to a large gathering near Bandra Masjid in Mumbai. The case registered last April against her by the Azad Maidan police station was for allegedly promoting communal disharmony. She said she had tagged chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and his son, Aditya Thackeray, a minister and former CM Devendra Fadnavis to bring the situation to the attention of the leaders.

Sinde has written to the civic body that this move will create a shortage of nursing staff in the Airoli and Nerul civic hospitals. It is not a wise move to shift our senior municipal nurses from the Airoli and Nerul civic hospitals to a private hospital. Why can t the new medical recruits be posted to Dr D Y Patil hospital for this purpose? The nursing staff are also not happy by this decision of NMMC, said Shinde.

Under municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar s anti-plastic drive, a civic team seized over 2,000 kg of plastic bags from L N Trading Company inside APMC market, in sector 19A. A penalty of Rs 15,000 has been slapped on the company in this regard, said a civic official. The Koparkhairane ward officials were carrying out an anti-plastic drive led by additional municipal commissioner Sujata Dhole.

Forest officials rescue crocodile in Belapur | Navi Mumbai News

The crocodile was surviving on the fishes and crabs cultivated in the waterbody NAVI MUMBAI: The adult crocodile which was recently spotted in the marshy area behind NMMC head-office building in Belapur was successfully trapped and rescued by the forest officials on Tuesday morning. The Thane range forest officer (RFO) Narendra Muthe, said, We had recently got reports about the presence of a large crocodile in the Belapur area. With the help of NGO WWA, a cage trap was laid in order to catch the crocodile. It will now be released in another safe location. Aditya Patil of Wildlife Welfare Association (WWA) said, The rescued crocodile is 6.43 feet long and weighs 35kg.
