Srinagar, May 7 : Three people, including two security personnel, were injured in a grenade attack in Srinagar on Friday, police said.
Police said militants hurled a grenade at CRPF troopers belonging to 36 Battalion in Nawa Bazar area of old Sringar.
SRINAGAR: Three security personnel and a civilian were injured in a grenade attack by terrorists here on Friday, police said.
About 4.45pm, terrorists hurled a grenade towards security forces deployed at Nawa Bazar area of the city, a police official said.
He said the explosion caused injuries to two CRPF personnel of 36 Battalion, one policeman and a civilian.
The injured were shifted to SMHS hospital, the official said.
The area has been cordoned off and a hunt has been launched to nab the attackers, he said.

At least six residential houses were damaged, most of them fully, in highly congested Nawa Bazar area in heart of the Old City here, official sources said on Thursday.
They said the fire erupted during night at around 4:20 a.m. The fire apparently erupted due to short-circuit in one of the houses.
Soon the fire spread and engulfed five other houses in the vicinity.
The fire was controlled with the help of fire tenders, local and police, they said. Those whose houses were damaged include Mehraj-ud-din Khan and Ghulam Rasool (joint), Abdul Majeed Dar, Nazir Ahmed and Javiad Ahmad Dar (joint) , Abdul Qayoom Khan, Tawheed Showkat Dar, and Muneer Ahmad Dar and Mohammad Shafi Dar (joint).
