$5.2M distributed to 12 Montana communities for infrastructure and public health projects

GREAT FALLS â The Montana Department of Commerce announced Wednesday that 12 communities will share more than $5.2 million in federal funds through the agency s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Public and Community Facilities Program. The grants will be used primarily for water and wastewater system infrastructure and public health facilities.
A news release say that the program provides funding to local governments to address community needs, including building or improving public infrastructure and constructing or rehabilitating facilities such as shelters, food banks, mental health centers and senior centers.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â Employees at Good Samaritan Thrift Store worked through Christmas to give people without a place to spend the holiday somewhere warm to stay. This is one of my best Christmases, said Sam Johnson with the Good Samaritan Network Administrative Office. I can t think of a better way to think about the gift that Jesus gave us.
People were able to sit around a TV and chat inside. The shop is the pickup spot for the cold weather shelters this weekend at 7 p.m. Employees said they wanted to offer people a place to stay safe and out of the cold for the day.

Cold weather overnight shelter to open in Tallahassee Thursday, Friday nights

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â City and county governments, along with community partners in Tallahassee, are offering free rides to overnight shelters Thursday and Friday night as temperatures drop across the region.
Anyone needing shelter on these nights is being told to The Good Samaritan Thrift Store located at 2706 North Monroe Street at 7 p.m.
From there, those in need will be transported to a community partner site via a StarMetro bus to shelter overnight and leave the following morning at 7 a.m.
