Fox News fights an election company’s defamation suit with a new court filing.

In the months since the election tech company Smartmatic sued Fox News and three of its anchors, the two companies have engaged in a prehearing back-and-forth that continued Monday when Fox filed briefs in support of a previous motion to have the lawsuit dismissed.
In its defamation suit, which was filed in New York State Supreme Court on Feb. 4, Smartmatic accused Fox and the anchors Lou Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo and Jeanine Pirro of promoting falsehoods about the company and widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

WarnerMedia’s studios and networks group is bringing late-night programming block Adult Swim and streaming service HBO Max’s adult animation and comedy development teams together under one leader.
Suzanna Makkos
Suzanna Makkos will oversee the single unit in her newly expanded role as executive VP of original comedy and adult animation for both brands.
As programming head for Adult Swim, in addition to HBO Max original comedy and adult animation, Makkos will continue to report to Sarah Aubrey, HBO Max’s head of original content.
She will also now report to Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim, on all content developed for Adult Swim on all platforms. Adult Swim’s development team, led by Walter Newman, will now report into Makkos.
