Seattle was also mentioned in Pride.com's list of eight of the best Pride celebrations in the U.S., coming in at number seven. Each year, Hellbent Brewing teams up with area businesses to release GateCity IPA, a beer to benefit North Helpline. In addition to being a philanthropic beer, it is also an award-winning beer. This year the brewery releases the beer as part of Seattle Beer Week. The beer will be available at the brewery as well as a number of local bars in the Northgate and Lake City area (GateCity).

Last year the two businesses were part of a collaborative effort that created Say It Loud: Stout and Proud (read about it). Well, they’re at it again. On February 25th Hellbent Brewing releases a new version of its popular Moon Tower Stout with Owemba Coffee from Boon Boona. Boon Boona is not your typical coffee roaster. They focus entirely on African beans, forging sustainable relationships with African producers and exporters, with a focus on supporting woman-owned growers. They also share a portion of their profits directly with the growers, with the intention of helping develop the African coffee industry.

The collaboration team included Hellbent Brewing, Burke-Gilman Brewing, Future Primitive Brewing, Lazy Boy Brewing, and Postdoc Brewing. The beer’s mission is to help support and thank people in the service industry. The beer releases today, December 22nd, and will be available at the collaborating breweries as well as a few other locations listed below. Each brewery will offer a special deal on the beer for folks working in the service industry:
