MISSOULA â Sunny skies and hot temperatures are expected Wednesday across western Montana and Idaho. Expect highs in the upper 80s to low 90s for most of western Montana.
Even hotter temperatures are expected Thursday as most locations top out in the 90s. The one thing we will keep an eye on is the chance for an isolated thunderstorm or two to develop during the afternoon and evening. These will have the best chance to occur in Idaho and southwest Montana. But for the most part we will stay hot and dry.

Previous sticking points have included lost energy, irrigation access and grain transportation. Simpson wants to fund his concept through the Biden administration’s infrastructure plan.

Johnson hopes this partnership between The Trailhead, which is a bike and ski shop in Baker City, and the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest will help future hikers avoid the conundrum that he confronted that day high on the western slopes of the Elkhorn Mountains.
Johnson is general manager of Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort, which several years ago opened The Trailhead on Main Street in downtown Baker City.
