Niagara County Looking to Move Law Enforcement Academy to NCCC After Problems at NU

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Why Are We Letting the Woke Mob Ruin Niagara University

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Why Are We Letting the ‘Woke’ Mob Ruin Niagara University By: Michael Frank, Niagara University Alumni As an alumni of Niagara University, I have always been proud of my alma mater. That was until this past week when a liberal teacher at the University, and a small group of students, essentially held the institution hostage by threatening to protest the Niagara County Law Enforcement Graduation if it was not moved off campus. When I heard this story initially I thought it was a joke. How could a religious institution grounded in the principles of acceptance and inclusion cast aside a group of students who tuition simply because they are training to become police officers?

It s Official: Niagara University to Not Host Law Enforcement Academy Graduation

By: Staff Reporter Niagara University President Rev. James J. Maher, Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti and Niagara Falls Superintendent of Police John Faso released the following joint statement: “Today we met to discuss the university’s initial request to move the Niagara County Law Enforcement Academy (NCLEA) graduation from campus. The university provided a number of options to host the graduation at the university, however, the recruits have now expressed a desire to the Sheriff’s Office that the event be held elsewhere, and we will respect their wishes.” “Our meeting this morning was productive and, understanding that direct and honest dialogue is always the best option, we each agreed on the need for more open communication between institutions in resolving these matters and issues in the broader community. We look forward to continuing our important work together.”

Legislator Godfrey Says Niagara County Needs to Rethink Relationship with Niagara University

Legislator Godfrey Says Niagara County Needs to Rethink Relationship with Niagara University By: Staff Reporter In light of Niagara University’s decision to not allow the Niagara County Law Enforcement Academy graduation ceremony to take place on its campus, Niagara County Legislator David Godfrey said today it may be time to rethink about the relationship between Niagara County and Niagara University. “To say I am extremely disappointed in the actions of Niagara University is a tremendous understatement,” said Godfrey, chairman of the county’s Community Safety Committee. “The women and men graduating from the Niagara County Law Enforcement Academy deserve our respect, and their accomplishments should be celebrated, not diminished, by being pushed off campus.”
