Today India Tourism’s UK division, in association with the High Commission of India, staged a yoga takeover of the Coca-Cola London Eye, teaming up with UK-based yoga organisations to unite in a ‘wheel of yoga’ yoga for peace class within the 32 capsules of the London Eye to commemorate the International Day of Yoga on Wednesday 21 June 2017.
Yogis, both new to yoga and with decades of practice among them, performed gentle asana and meditative breathing as the London Eye rotated, with the aim of kicking off the week in which the International Day of Yoga is celebrated, and simultaneously cultivating peace and harmony in light of recent tragic UK events.

In a FICCI-Yes Bank Report titled “India Inbound Tourism: Unlocking the Opportunities” highlights India as a tourism powerhouse. The sector has generated USD 247.3 billion (INR 16.91 trillion) in 2018, with a growth of 6.7% and accounted for 9.2% of the total economy. Currently, it is the 8th largest country in terms of contribution to travel and tourism GDP and the largest market in South Asia. By 2029, the Indian tourism sector is likely to grow at 6.7% per annum to reach INR 35 trillion (USD 501.4) with 9.6% of GDP.
