Not a nut in sight
Sara Lee Frozen Bakery’s Superior on Main brand has launched several peanut- and tree nut-free products in advance of Food Allergy Awareness Week (9-15 May).
The treats include two varieties of Shortbread and two seasonal desserts, namely Cinnamon Bun Crème Puffs and Peppermint Iced Cookies.
The Shortbread and Chocolate Drizzled Shortbread are made with real butter and are also preservative free and Kosher OU-D certified. The Cinnamon Bun Crème Puffs are an indulgent French pastry with a caramel filling and icing and streusel topping. The Peppermint Iced Cookies are made with chocolate cake cookies, peppermint chocolate icing and peppermint candy pieces reminiscent of candy canes. Both are also Kosher OU-D certified.

Wall’s Pastry has announced the launch of a ‘Great Family Favourites’ product range in selected Asda stores.
Developed by Addo Food Group, the range will be initially available for three weeks from 18 March. It has been designed to meet the growing demand for family-focused food and features ‘classic springtime products’, Wall’s Pastry said.
The Great Family Favourites range comprises Chicken & Gravy Pie, Minced Steak & Onion Pie (both 400g, £2), Family Sausage Roll (450g, £2), Bacon & Cheese Quiche and Cheese & Onion Quiche (both 400g, £1.50).
“The range was developed to provide quick and easy meals that can be enjoyed during different occasions, to make the perfect meal for the whole family and take pride of place on a buffet table. We wanted to create products that deliver on taste and flavour and, at their heart, bring the family together,” said Mike Holton, brand manager at Wall’s Pastr
