Surf’s up at HBO with the announcement of
100 Foot Wave, a six-part sports doc series from filmmaker Chris Smith and executive producer Joe Lewis.
The series follows the decade-long journey of world class surfer Garrett McNamara on his quest to surf a 100-foot wave. The odyssey takes McNamara, his wife Nicole and fellow surfers to the seaside village of Nazaré, Portugal, where locals have for centuries been in awe of the dangerous waters off their coast.
Over the course of the six episodes,
100 Foot Wave weaves together the story of the seaside village that is transformed by McNamara and his peers’ ongoing search for the tallest wave on earth.
