Joan Bellingham was drugged and received over 200 electroconvulsive shocks - all meant to cure her of being gay. Many of her friends have been through similarly traumatic therapies , a handful of whom subsequently took their own lives. The guilt you are made to feel is horrific. It leaves you feeling lonely, empty, worthless.
New Zealand bishops: Covid-19 vaccine is a moral duty New Zealand s Catholic Bishops urge everyone to get a COVID-19 vaccine saying it is a moral duty.
By Lisa Zengarini
The Catholic bishops of New Zealand are urging Catholics and all citizens in the Country to get vaccinated against Covid-19 saying, with Pope Francis, that it is a moral duty, because it is about each one’s life and the lives of others.
NZ Catholic Bishops Conference President, Cardinal John Dew, reminds that the Pope has made it clear there is no religious reason to reject vaccination. The Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has recently stated that it is “morally acceptable to receive COVID-19 vaccines that have used cell lines from aborted fetuses in their research and production process” when “ethically irreproachable vaccines are not available”, in the light of the grave danger of spreading COVID-19. A position which was endorsed by Pope Francis on December 17.

The country’s Catholic bishops are strongly urging their faithful and everyone in Aotearoa New Zealand to get a Covid-19 vaccine when it becomes available.
NZ Catholic Bishops Conference President, Cardinal John Dew, cited this country’s 2019-20 measles epidemic and the endorsement of Covid-19 vaccines by Pope Francis as reasons the bishops are calling on everyone to get vaccinated.
Pope Francis this week lamented that some people were saying they would refuse vaccination, adding: “I believe that morally, everyone must take the vaccine. It is the moral choice because it is about your life [and] the lives of others.”
