A Kilkenny man has raised an incredible €14,719 for the Irish Cancer Society by completing a gruelling fitness challenge for the month of January.
Neil Gunning of Nu Gamma Fitness and Relay For Life have partnered up for the month and have been doing fitness challenges and raising money for the Irish Cancer Society.
From daily dips in sub zero temperatures in the River Nore to a 100-kilometre rowing challenge the Kilkenny man has inspired those around him to both get fit and donate to this very worthy cause.
An Bord Pleanala has overruled a decision by Wicklow County Council to grant planning permission for a quarry in Grangecon.
Paul Doyle, with an address in Grangecon, and An Taisce had lodged separate third party appeals in September 2019 against Wicklow County Council s decision to grant planning permission to Roadfill Aggregates Ltd for the project at Ballycore Townland subject to a number of conditions.
The proposed development included the extraction of sand and gravel above groundwater level over an area of 11.5 hectares with processing that includes crushing, washing, screening and all ancillary works and structures. A NATIONWIDE LITTER survey has shown that levels of PPE and coffee cup litter have continued to increase across the country since the pandemic began.
The survey from the Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) indicated that for the first time in 13 years, fewer than half of the towns surveyed were deemed ‘clean’.
