La garganta del río Cares a vista de dron

Haciendo justicia al nombre del blog, Magic Places, visitamos uno de los parajes mágicos con los que contamos en la geografía española: los Picos de Europa. Y más en concreto a una de sus sendas más conocidas, la ruta del Cares, camino que discurre entre la provincia castellanoleonesa de León y Asturias, entre calizas grises. La garganta del Cares es resultado de una obra con objeto de mantener el canal de alimentación de la central hidroeléctrica Camarmeña-Poncebos en 1916-1921, y ampliada posteriormente entre los años 1945-1950. Publicidad La garganta se ubica en el Parque nacional de Picos de Europa, zona protegida que recibe más de dos millones de visitantes al año de los cuales la mayor parte visitan esta bella ruta.

Casino, Coyotes donate $50K to Human Services

In the spirit of “Pay It Forward Day,” Gila River Cares — the philanthropic arm of Gila River Hotels & Casinos-Wild Horse Pass, Lone Butte and Vee Quiva — and the Arizona Coyotes Foundation joined forces to present a $50,000 check to Human Services Campus Inc. Human Services Campus Inc. is a nonprofit agency dedicated to helping people experiencing homelessness. Gila River also donated 4,000 towels to assist with daily shower services. “Pay It Forward Day” is a global initiative that exists to make a difference by creating a huge ripple of kindness felt across the world. Kenneth Manuel, CEO of Gila River Hotels & Casinos, and Xavier Gutierrez, president & CEO of the Arizona Coyotes presented the check to Amy Schwabenlender, executive director of Human Services Campus Inc. 

Wind River Cares Hosts Second COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

Credit windriver.care On March 20, the Wind River Family and Community Health Care is holding another mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Riverton. To bring people in, the clinic is entering everyone who gets vaccinated in a drawing for gift cards. Lisa Yawakia, communication specialist for Wind River Cares, said the tribe-run organization immunized 100 people at their last clinic. The last one we did was in Arapaho. We are looking to do this one here in Riverton. To reachout to our different service populations, Yawakia said. Wind River Cares hopes to reach the Native population in Riverton over the weekend. Yawakia said that those who get immunized at the event will be entered in drawings for gift card.
