Stellar Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of service vehicles, cranes, and hooklift hoists, announces the asset purchase of MD Products and Solutions (MDPS), a manufacturer of agricultural and utility-focused trailer products, along with their current facilities located at 2421 15th Street SW, Mason City, IA.
Stellar has retained the employees of Mason City, and the company will add more to meet growth objectives. The Mason City facilities will continue to manufacture current products such as Stud King header trailers and Roose utility construction trailers. David A. Backus, 74, of Ventura, IA passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3 to 6 P.M., Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4
th St., Garner, IA.
Due to COVID-19, a celebration service will be held at a later date at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in memory of Dave to Central Gardens of North Iowa, Mayo Clinic or Young America’s Foundation.
David Allen Backus, the son of Norman Lloyd and Mildred Adela (Billington) Backus, was born August 8, 1947 in Thorp, Wisconsin. He lived in three small towns in Wisconsin for short periods before moving to Valparaiso, Indiana, where he graduated from high school in 1966.
