Speed reduction endorsed on fatal Gympie region road

Premium Content Subscriber only A speed reduction has been endorsed for a 3.75-kilometre stretch of road near the site of a fatal crash that killed a 29-year-old man at Wolvi last week. Josiah William Stevens was a passenger in a 4WD when it collided with a school bus full of children at a T-intersection on Kin Kin Road and Wilsons Pocket Road about 4pm last Tuesday. Josiah died at the scene. The driver of the car, Josiah s 68-year-old father Alan, was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women s Hospital in a critical condition and with life threatening injuries. Father who lost his son in Gympie school bus crash already lost another son to a bike accident

Heartbreaking details have emerged about the father who was critically injured in a school bus crash that killed his son yesterday.   Alan Stevens, 68, was driving a 4WD with his son in the passenger seat when it collided with a school bus near Gympie, in Queensland, on Tuesday afternoon. Josiah Stevens, 29, sadly died at the scene before it was uncovered that Mr Stevens reportedly lost another child, Clancy, in a trail bike accident in 2013.  The father is still in a critical condition with multiple broken bones, while the twenty-six school children and a female bus driver, 53, involved escaped without any serious injuries.
