(Photo: Courtesy Ari Autor) Capping an unusual season, the Mustang Boys and Girls Swim Teams traveled to Christiansburg last week to compete in the Class 3 Swimming State Championship. The championship wrapped up an abridged varsity swim experience featuring fewer meets, limited numbers of competitors at regular meets, and rules yielding smaller state teams than usual. To ensure a limited number of state meet entries, the Virginia High School League instituted changes requiring athletes to qualify on the basis of top four finishes at regional meets only and not by qualifying time standards.

Police Band spreads cheer at BARP concert

Social Share The Barbados Association of Retired Persons’ (BARP) first Christmas concert lifted the spirits of the scores of people of all ages who attended the free event held last Friday night at Hastings Rocks, Christ Church. It was a time to relax with family and friends and forget the otherwise gloomy year while soaking up the songs of Christmas. While the young children ran around or played close to family, some adults were moved to dance where they stood, in front of benches and their chairs while others opted to sway as they sat all the while observing the COVID-19 protocol for wearing masks and socially distancing if they weren’t in the same group.
