Thomaston Grammar students recognized for responsibility, positive attitude Fri, 04/09/2021 - 4:15pm Trevor Farrington – Grade 4 Norah Smith – Kindergarten Caleb Stinson – Grade 1 THOMASTON Several students at Thomaston Grammar School were recognized for responsibly and having a positive attitude at a school-wide Zoom assembly on April 8. Students receiving the Responsibility Award were: Joy Chen, Vivian Holom, Caleb Stinson, Jaxon Hopkins, Harlow Peterson-Crute, Oliver Hedstrom, Nora Simms, Steven Marriner, Meredith Lewis, Lynell Gendron, Natalie Jordan, Maya Catapano-Kangas, Shawn King, and Amelia Stewart. Students receiving the Positive Attitude Award were: Evelyn Fish, Norah Smith, Jordyn McDonald, Alden Wakem, Mya Rodriquez, Mylee Anderson, Olive Grierson, Austin Haskell, Isabella O’Clair, Trevor Farrington, Leah McLellan, Eva O’Hare, Owen Simmons, Vivian Holom, and Sophia Davis.

Term in Review: I V CSD Director Kristie Nguyen

March 16, 2021 at 12:51 pm by Atmika Iyer Kristie Nguyen was unanimously appointed to the Isla Vista Community Services District in February 2019 to fill a vacancy left by Natalie Jordan — the first new appointment in the burgeoning local government’s short history. Nguyen served on the board for two years and stepped down at the end of 2020. Though Nguyen, a 2020 UCSB graduate, served the remainder of Jordan’s term, she chose not to run again.  Leonard Paulasa / Daily Nexus In 2019, then-second-year sociology major Nguyen ran against Jeremy Levine to be appointed through a vote from Isla Vista Community Services District (I.V. New I V CSD Director Juggles Leadership Role and Associated Students

December 10, 2020 at 12:43 pm by Jackson Guilfoil Catherine Flaherty, a UC Santa Barbara student and current Associated Students leader, was sworn in on Tuesday night as one of two new directors for the Isla Vista Community Services District, marking the beginning of her two-year term. During the meeting, the other directors also voted her in as the vice president of the board.
