Coldplay Release New Single Higher Power Friday, 07 May 2021
Coldplay have released their new single.
Following a series of online teasers, Higher Power was premiered via an Extraterrestrial Transmission performance that was broadcast to French ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet, who is currently on board the International Space Station.
Prior to the premiere, Pesquet and the band chatted about life on the road compared to that on the International Space Station, among other things. Watch the conversation here and head below for the performance.
Higher Power channels 80s pop-rock with rousing synths leading the earworm chorus this is Coldplay s Dancing In The Dark. It s currently unclear if the track will feature on an upcoming album, their last being 2019 s Everyday Life .
ONE of the tastiest events in Oxford s social calendar will be back this summer and has announced a smorgasbord of culinary and musical acts. Foodies Festival is planning to return to the city s South Park on August Bank Holiday weekend, August 28-30. And along with samples to try, there will be star appearances by MasterChef and Bake Off champions and pop acts Scouting For Girls and Toploader. MasterChef 2021 champion Tom Rhodes, MasterChef: The Professionals champion Alex Webb, and MasterChef 2021 and 2020 finalists Laura Michael and Sandy Tang will appear at the event which tours the country. FdC Grand Final
A total of 20 acts battled for the right to defend the Portuguese colours at the forthcoming 2021 Eurovision Song Contest. 10 acts competed in each of the two semi-finals. Five acts from each semi-final have qualified to the Grand Final. Hence a total of 10 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Rotterdam during the Grand Final of Festival da Cançao 2021.
All three Festival da Cançao 2021 shows will be held at the
RTP Studios in Lisbon due to the COVID 19 pandemic restrictions and measures .
The 2021 Portuguese Eurovision entry will be determined via a mixed jury/public deliberation.
