Dead By Daylight Is Getting A Colourblind Mode Following Provocative Comments By One Of Its Designers
Dead By Daylight s been a hit amongst players these last few years. We had issues with the Switch port – awarding it 6/10 stars – but this multiplayer horror game still offers plenty of fun with friends. With over 25 million players signing up, Behaviour Interactive has now revealed a colourblind mode is on the way – though we wish it was arriving under better circumstances.
Accessibility campaigners have requested this option for years, and this recent incident is regarding the Version 4.5.0 update. It hasn t gone live yet, but it ll make several changes to the HUD, which fans have criticised for being difficult to read if you re colourblind.
Creating accessibility for gamers with various disabilities has become an important part of modern gaming. By offering more accessibility, more players can engage in and have fun with the game on the same level. Behaviour Interactive isn’t necessarily at the forefront of this, and it seems to have come after some controversial statements from the staff, but some new options will open the game up to colorblind players that have issues with the game’s numerous indicators and alerts.
Dead by Daylight Lead Programmer Ethan Amos Larson was apparently streaming the game on his personal Twitch when the matter came up in a question from a viewer. Allegedly, Larson went hard to the paint on the question.
Dead by Daylight Is Having a Bonus Bloodpoints Event
Behaviour Interactive is giving
Dead by Daylight players the opportunity to earn more Bloodpoints than usual this week during a special Bloodrush event. This event is scheduled to start on January 15th, and instead of running just for the weekend, it’ll continue until January 22nd. The tradeoff with that longer event period is that this Bloodrush event is giving out 1.5 times the Bloodpoints, not double the Bloodpoints as pas events have.
The
Dead by Daylight developer announced the plans for the Bloodrush event this week and said it would start on January 15th at 11 a.m. EST. From that time, players will have a week to earn as many Bloodpoints as possible before Bloodrush ends.
