Becky Vanshur | The Idaho National Guard’s 101st Civil Support Team was among the Oregon National Guard’s 102nd and the Nevada National Guard’s 92nd CST supporting the California National Guard’s 95th CST in a large-scale, multi-day exercise in Northern California Feb. 1-5, 2020. The exercise, BAYEX 2021, tested the ability to respond to training scenarios in the San Francisco Bay Area involving weapons of mass destruction emergencies. Biologically actionable results were simulated inside an abandoned military facility and a transit boat transporting civilians around the Bay Area. The hazardous agent triggered phase one sampling, which resulted in federal agencies requesting support from the National Guard’s civil support teams. ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - A brush fire was reported Tuesday night on the south side of Flattop Mountain near Upper Canyon Road, according to the Anchorage Fire Department. A spokesperson for the department said the fire was 60-by-100 feet in size. The fire was reported at 11:12 p.m. and has been contained by fire crews, according to the spokesperson. She was reported missing by police the day before, on April 30. ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 27-year-old woman whose body was found off Eklutna Lake Road over the weekend. Jerilyn Nicholson was reported missing by the Anchorage Police Department last Friday, one day before her body was found at the base of a cliff off Eklutna Lake Road by APD officers, the Chugiak Volunteer Fire Department and Anchorage Fire Department. Nicholson had last been seen in Eagle River on April 24.
