Judges named for Comedy Women In Print : Other news 2021 : Chortle : The UK Comedy Guide

As entries open for this year s prizes The judges have been announced for this year’s Comedy Women in Print prizes, as entries open today. There will be two prizes, for published and unpublished novel. In the first category Chocolat author Joanne Harris will chair the panel that also includes Maureen Lipman, Steph McGovern,Susan Wokoma and writer Cathy Rentzenbrink.    Journalist Sarah Shaffi chairs the judging panel for the unpublished novels, alongside Martha Ashby, editorial director at HarperFiction, broadcasters Faye Brann and Gloria Hunniford, stand-up Thanyia Moore, and Dr Jennifer Young, head of writing and journalism at Falmouth University. The Comedy Women in Print prizes, were created by  comedian Helen Lederer, and are now in their third year.

Comic and wife Suki Webster to tour the UK for Channel 5 Paul Merton and his wife Suki Webster are to travel the UK in a motor home for a new Channel 5 series. Six hour-long episodes of the programme – provisionally if unoriginally titled  Motorhoming With Merton & Webster – have been commissioned. The news comes after industry bodies reported up to 70 per cent increase in motorhome and campervan registrations last summer. As well as touring the UK later this year, the couple will be reviewing the latest models and gadgets. They will also meet motorhome fans who will share their secrets such as how to make your caravan warmer, which loo is the comfiest, how to choose the best spot in a caravan park… and how to park it.
