India: Religious leaders come forward to jointly fight COVID-19 – KashmirWatch

Shares0 New Delhi, 11 May 2021: Religious leaders belonging to different faiths have come forward to jointly fight COVID-19 and appealed to the people to extend their helping hands to all those who are suffering during this pandemic period. In an online webinar organised by Dharmik Jan Morcha, various religious leaders from across the country have expressed their views on the theme of “Corona crisis and message of religious leaders to the nation”. Speaking on the occasion, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Vice President Prof. Mohammed Salim Engineer has said that the Coronavirus is currently taking human lives like a tsunami and people of all ages are falling prey to it. Drawing attention towards several measures, the JIH Vice President said, “to prevent this, we should take all possible protective measures. There are six ways by which we can fight the pandemic, which are protection, treatment, service, prayer, atonement and introspection.” He asked the people to try to resolve

Shmuel Rosneris an Israeli columnist, editor, and researcher. He is a contributing opinion writer for the International New York Times and is the political editor of the Jewish Journal. Lisa Rothstein Goldberg studies at the Academy for Jewish Religion (AJR) in New York. Lisa has wanted to be a rabbi since her sophomore year of college. The more she studied Judaism, the more fascinated she became and the more she wanted to learn more. Her goal as a rabbi is to create a safe space for everyone to explore the rich traditions of Jewish culture, history, and religion and find a meaningful connection to their modern lives. Lisa has a masters degree in social work University of Maryland, a masters in Jewish communal service from Baltimore Hebrew University. She currently lives in Louisville, Kentucky with her husband and their young daughters.

Pollock was drew to be a chaplain by “stories from my grandfather Rabbi Hillel Silverman telling me about his time in the Navy as a chaplain. Next when looking at careers I found chaplaincy was an actual field and will allow to work with people of all faiths as wellas jews”. Sanderson’s goal as Jewish clergy “is to bring suicide prevention, and disability advocacy into outreach spaces”.
