Dominguez lauds PAG-IBIG Fund programs

Dominguez III expects the Home Development Mutual Fund, commonly known as PAG-IBIG Fund, will further boost its efforts in closing the housing gap and spur domestic activity as the government rolls out its recovery program this year.  During the presentation on Wednesday, March 3, of the PAG-IBIG Chairman’s Report for 2020, Dominguez said he expects the agency to be “even more relentless” in providing affordable housing to mostly low-income earners. Pag-IBIG Released Over P12B Worth of Home Loans in December 2020

Pag-IBIG Fund’s home loan releases reached P12.11 billion in December, hitting a record-high despite the economic blow of the coronavirus pandemic, as reported by Manila Standard. Compared to the amount recorded in December 2019, which hit P11.47 billion, 2020 figures registered a six percent growth. According to the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Eduardo del Rosario, the takeouts in December was the highest for a single month in Pag-IBIG Fund’s history. The milestone enabled the agency to achieve another, funding the acquisition of 12,275 homes for members in December, a record-high development.  All in all, the agency distributed P63.75 billion worth of home loans to 63,750 members in 2020. About 11 percent of P7.1 billion was used for socialized home loans, helping 16,975 minimum and low-wage earners.
