Winners were drawn April 12 for Park Rapids annual urban forestry tree giveaway. 8:00 am, Apr. 17, 2021 The Park Rapids Urban Forestry Committee drew the winners of the annual tree giveaway on Monday. The giveaway is connected with the city’s celebration of Arbor Day, part of maintaining Park Rapids’ designation as a Tree City USA. Residential property owners in the city were eligible to win. Winner of the northern pin oak was Rebecca Bentley at 618 Lake Ave. Winning the Japanese tree lilac was Edythe Tabor at 804 Pine St. Additional names were drawn in case the initial winners withdraw or decline the prize.
