At the 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, town council meeting, Deputy Mayor Bill Foster presided in Mayor Jill Beer’s absence.
Attending the regular council meeting via Zoom, were Deputy Mayor Bill Foster, CAO Cynthia Townsend, as well as councillors Ken Duplessis, Sandra Hayden, Ray Dufour, and Heather Mallot. Absent were Beer and Councillor Maureen VanAlstine.

On the regular agenda:
L.1 Recommendations regarding CUPE Local 4705: Be it resolved that: The Memorandum of Settlement between CUPE Local 4705 and the Corporation of the Town of Espanola be accepted. All five councillors voted in favour.
SHARE ON: Espanola is the latest municipality that will see a substantial increase in its insurance.
Last night council voted in favour of an agreement between Municipal Insurance Service and the town for insurance, but with a caveat.
