Some people in Milledgeville took to social media to say they weren t happy with parking downtown.  Wednesday afternoon, visitors in Milledgeville s historic downtown district and the city manager gave their thoughts on what they think the problem is. Larry Shearouse was headed to lunch with his son Wednesday afternoon. Shearouse said, It took us a while to find a place. I just told him this was going to be an issue, finding a place at 12:00, and sure enough, it was.

Milledgeville City Manager Hank Griffeth says college students make up much of the foot traffic because Milledgeville is home to three colleges. And students are visiting both locally-owned businesses and chain businesses. “I think we are a regional retail shopping hub, and I think we’re going to continue to get stronger,” said Griffeth. Most recently, the growing city has attracted a new restaurant. Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders is set to open Wednesday. Owner Jeramie Martin wants to welcome people near and far.

Milledgeville water main break causes low pressure, no water

The break impacts customers along Highway 49 and in the Allenwood Subdivision. Author: 13WMAZ Staff Updated: 8:18 AM EST December 18, 2020 MACON, Ga. Some people in Milledgeville are waking up under a boil order on Friday, but schools there are back to in-person classes. On Thursday, City Manager Hank Griffeth said some people may have no water or low water pressure because a water main break is impacting customers along Highway 49 and in the Allenwood Subdivision. The break is actually on Blandy road. It is now repaired, but the Balwdin County Water Department says anyone who lost water service or saw low pressure should boil water before consuming it.
