CHARLES TOWN â The Charles Town City council voted unanimously to extend the use of designated curbside pickup areas in downtown Charles Town at its meeting Monday night.
The resolution to continue allowing the areas first came into play in July when the council approved the use of curbside pickup signs aimed at helping businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic. The initial conversation among council began April 2, and the initial proposal for this extension listed April 2, 2021, as the end date for the program.
But that changed when some members of council took issue with the resolution proclaiming the extension would be the final one issued by the city. Council member Heather Sprenger was the first to voice concern.
