City meeting ends with tense exchange
Tuesday night’s city council meeting ended abruptly following a tense back-and-forth exchange sparked by City Councilman Ward Ketring questioning City Manager Taylor Brown about his availability and responsiveness.
Near the end of the council’s two-hour meeting, Ketring voiced a series of complaints, beginning with the city council not being notified prior to Brown sending a letter to the county concerning recreation funding and ending with what he called an “information disconnect” between himself and City Hall.

City may cut youth recreation
The Perry City Council has formally notified the Taylor County Commission that it intends to pull out of its long-standing arrangement to help finance public recreation namely youth baseball sparking a heated response from several commissioners this week.
However, according to City Manager Taylor Brown, a final decision has not been made by the council, adding that the interlocal agreement between the city and county requires a 180-day notice before either side can pull out.
