Wedding fair to be staged at Yeadon Town Hall

On Sunday, May 23 more than 20 local suppliers will host stalls at the Leodis Bridal Fair. The venue’s bar, the Town Hall Tavern, will also be open throughout the day for those wanting to buy a drink after tasting a free glass of Prosecco. The Grade II listed building is now taking wedding reception bookings. Tickets for the morning and afternoon events cost £5.50 and include a free glass of Prosecco. Additional COVID-19 safety measures will be in place. Face masks will be mandatory, sanitising stations will be provided and social distancing must be observed. Jamie Hudson, CEO at Yeadon Town Hall, said: “Yeadon Town Hall has provided a dramatic backdrop for many stage productions, and now it’s time for our stunning venue to play a part in very special wedding days too.

New clock for Yeadon Town Hall tower

TIME is re-starting at Yeadon Town Hall with the installation of a new working clock on the building s impressive tower. New clock faces are being put in place this week as part of the restoration of the building. Local people are being invited to get involved by coming up with a name for the new clock. Yeadon Town Hall has been undergoing extensive renovations for almost two years, with 2020 providing an unexpected opportunity to progress with restoration work as the cultural hub closed under COVID-19 restrictions. The Victorian building has been given a new lease of life since being taken over by a community interest company in April 2019. Improvements include a brand new Town Hall Tavern, refurbished first floor, including the main auditorium, redecorated Airedale and Wharfedale rooms and revamped backstage areas.
