Labella said the killing of Ritchie Nepomuceno “has to be looked into relentlessly” by the National Police Commission (Napolcom).
Nepomuceno was gunned down by two motorcycle-riding assailants while standing by the road in Barangay Basak-Pardo Monday night. She was the woman who filed rape and extortion charges against 11 policemen from the Sawang Calero Police Station.
About three hours after Nepomuceno was killed, one of the accused policemen, Police Staff Sgt. Celso Colita, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the head in the toilet in one of the offices of the Police Regional Office-Central Office headquarters in Camp Sergio Osmena here.

File photo April 16, 2021 CEBU City Mayor Edgardo Labella has asked the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) to submit a weekly report on the status of the illegal small town lottery (STL) in the city.
Labella previously instructed CCPO Director Police Colonel Josefino Ligan to be relentless in stopping illegal gambling in the city. We should never tolerate and allow illegal gambling to take place in Cebu City, said Labella.
The reported operations of illegal STLs in Barangay Carreta prompted Labella to ask the CCPO to check the reported incident not just in Carreta but also in other barangays in the city.
