City looking for ambitious developer to save the historic Selby Building Historic properties drive commerce and foot traffic, they generate tourism and they really bolster community pride
COSHOCTON - Local officials are seeking someone with money, vision and passion to revitalize about half a block in downtown Coshocton.
The three-story, 62,000-square-foot Selby Building at the corner of Main and Fifth streets, by the railroad tracks, has been acquired by the Coshocton County Reutilization Corporation, commonly known as the land bank.
Land banks are governmental entities or non-profit corporations that are focused on the conversion of vacant, abandoned and tax delinquent properties into productive use. This includes the demolition of dilapidated structures or rehabilitation and aggregation of adjacent properties to add value and draw interest from a buyer. The Selby Building is a prime example of why such land banks are needed.
