Water pump stolen from South Road clinic

The City Constabulary is investigating a break and enter at the South Road Clinic, which resulted in a water pump being stolen last Sunday evening.
At a statutory city council meeting on Monday, former acting Town Clerk Candace Nelson announced that the suspected bandit entered the facility through a window.
She explained that it is believed that he entered through a window and stole the pump.
Acting Chief Constable Peter Livingstone, when contacted, stated that the constabulary is still to apprehend the suspect as the investigation continues.

The Mayor and City Council (M&CC) yesterday passed a motion to replace acting Town Clerk Candace Nelson, who councillors accused of not understanding her role.
At a statutory meeting, a motion was tabled to have her removed and councillors voted-in Julian Orgista as her replacement.
The move to replace Nelson stemmed from disagreement over her handling of a letter sent by the Local Government Commission Secretariat instructing that City Treasurer, John Douglas, to proceed on leave despite the council’s wish to have his leave deferred.
